Community Payback Project

The Community Payback service has been working on the Rectory Field site since November 2021. The project is to clear up derelict allotment plots to put them back into a cultivable condition. The Alliance has funded a shed to be used as a shelter plus a portable toilet which were requirements for the site to be considered suitable. Work done on the site so far includes clearing untenanted plots, helping existing tenants on their plots (see before and after pictures) and hedge cutting. This has resulted in a large amount of waste being collected up and 2 skips already funded by the RAA. Funding has been sought for a roll on-roll off skip to remove it. It is hoped that the service can work on other plots in the borough when this project has finished.
