We have received reports of cockerels causing a noise nuisance on some sites. Please be aware that under the Allotments Act 1950, cockerels are not permitted on allotment sites. This is also stated in the Allotment Rules:
8. Livestock 8.1. Except with the prior written consent of the RAA the Tenant shall not keep any animals or livestock on the Allotment Garden save rabbits and hens (no Cockerels) to the extent permitted by section 12 Allotments Act 1950. (Such animals not to be kept for trade or business purposes).
If you have cockerels on your plot, I would be grateful if you could remove them at your earliest convenience. Failure to do so may result in you being asked to leave the site.
