Had a lovely time yesterday down at Clifton allotments to celebrate the opening of their accessible plot. A lot of hard work has been put into it. Julie, the site secretary, along with other volunteers has co-ordinated this project from start to finish including getting funding from the National Lottery, organising materials and getting them installed. The plot is now going to be used by Caremark who support people with complex health conditions to enable them to live a full and active ordinary life in their own community and home. We even had the plot tested by a young man who was very excited to be planting carrots! Can’t wait to see what they grow. A positive project which we hope to encourage on other sites, making them more useable by all.
